Anfield bag policy

Short answer: only a small bag of A5 size or smaller. Backpacks and luggage are turned away at the turnstiles, and there is no bag store at the ground.

✓ WHAT'S ALLOWED

Liverpool FC's help centre states that permitted items are "Small bags (A5 paper size or smaller), carrying hygiene products and/or medicines, or club shop bags".

A5 is roughly the size of a folded sheet of A4 paper — about 21 × 15 cm. Think a small handbag or a bum bag, not a rucksack.

✗ WHAT'S REFUSED
  • Backpacks and rucksacks
  • Holdalls and sports bags
  • Suitcases and luggage of any size

There is no bag storage at Anfield

This is the detail that catches travelling fans out. Liverpool FC state plainly: "There are no luggage/storage spaces located at Anfield." If you turn up with a suitcase, there is nowhere at the ground to leave it.

If you are going straight from the airport or a train, plan to drop luggage before heading to the ground — at your hotel, or at a station left-luggage service in the city centre.

NOT YET VERIFIED we could not confirm current prices or opening hours for any third-party luggage service near Anfield from a first-party source. Check directly before relying on one.

If you're doing the stadium tour

The same restriction applies, and LFC warn that visitors arriving with large luggage "may be unable to take part in the tour", adding that "refunds may not be offered". Sort your bags out first.

Practical advice

  • Travel to the ground with pockets, not a bag, if you can.
  • Bags are searched on entry — allow extra time at the turnstiles.
  • Medication and hygiene products in a small bag are explicitly provided for.
  • Buying in the club shop is fine — club shop bags are named as permitted.
