Matchday Abroad publishes practical football travel guidance. Our standard is usefulness with traceable evidence: a reader should be able to understand what is known, when it was checked and where the information came from.

Source priority

We prefer the source closest to the fact. Ticket rules come from the club or authorised ticketing platform; stadium entry rules from the club or venue; routes and timetables from transport operators; and destination details from official tourism or public bodies. Reputable independent reporting may add context, but it does not replace an available primary source. We do not use unauthorised ticket sellers or pirate-streaming sites as recommendations.

Verification and dates

Substantive guides include a “last verified” date and a source box or direct links where practical. That date means the cited material was reviewed; it is not a promise that every external service remained unchanged afterwards. When a detail cannot be confirmed, we label it as unverified, narrow the claim or leave it out. Readers should recheck time-sensitive ticket, transport and entry information before travelling.

Original value and scaled pages

We do not publish large numbers of near-identical pages simply to target search phrases. A page must solve a distinct planning problem and add meaningful explanation, comparison or first-party sourcing. Older programmatic tournament pages are excluded from advertising and search discovery while they are consolidated into a clearly labelled archive.

Reviews and commercial content

We only claim first-hand testing when a documented test was actually performed and the method can be explained. Scores, performance claims, prices and guarantees must have a current source and a verification date. Paid relationships are disclosed close to the link, and partners do not approve editorial conclusions before publication. Advertising is kept off legal, error, redirect and thin archive pages.

Automation and editorial responsibility

Software may help organise data, identify broken links or assist with drafting. It does not make an unsourced claim true. Material facts still require source review, and Matchday Abroad remains responsible for what is published.

Corrections

Send a correction to hello@matchdayabroad.com with the page URL, the disputed wording and a supporting source. We assess the evidence, correct material errors and update the verification date when the underlying guide is rechecked. A clarification may be added when competing official sources cannot be reconciled.
